Eligibility Criteria for Post-Graduate Programme in Banking and Finance (PGPBF)

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply.  Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/HOD/Registrar/Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks

The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2012.  Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.  NIBM would not allow any candidate to join the programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2012.  NIBM would also not offer admission to any candidate after June 30, 2012.

Admission Procedure

Candidates seeking admission to the PGPBF of NIBM should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) by IIMs as a pre-requisite. The CAT registration will be held from August 17 to September 28, 2011.

The candidates should follow the CAT advertisement of IIMs in leading newspapers on August 7, 2011, for full details about obtaining CAT 2011 vouchers. After obtaining CAT 2011 vouchers and registering for CAT, the candidate should apply to NIBM by filling NIBM’s application form and furnish CAT Reg. No.

Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT scores will be called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection during Feb-March 2012.

CAT score is used for short-listing candidates who apply for admission to NIBM. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the Programme.
