The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi, will conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination every year. This entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time. The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing of merit list to the DGHS as per instructions given by it. The counseling for successful candidates is conducted by the DGHS. During counseling the eligibility criteria, various documents, etc. of the candidate is verified and Medical/Dental College is allotted to the candidate according to the choice.
PATTERN OF AIPMT 2011
Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
Time duration: 3 hours.
Final Examination: The finally Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions(four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only.
Time duration: 3 hours.
Language of the Question Papers: Candidate can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling in the Application Form. It cannot be changed later.
ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS
- The candidate should be completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
- The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
Candidate must born on or between –
- SC/ST/OBC Category – 01.01.82 to 01.01.95
- Other Category – 01.01.87 to 01.01.95
Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K are not eligible, as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility they must submit an affidavit, in original, in Proforma on Rs. 10 Non-Judicial Stamp Paper duly sworn before and attested by a Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that:-
- They are not eligible to appear for MBBS/BDS seats in the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K and hence not eligible to seek admission in Medical/ Dental Colleges of Andhra Pradesh/J&K.
- They are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh/ J&K.
Note: Applications not accompanied with the required affidavits or accompanied with incomplete, unattested or photocopy of the affidavit shall be summarily rejected without any further reference in the matter. The affidavits submitted by such candidates will be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal proceedings may be initiated against them.
RESERVATION
Reservation will be made as per following details in 15% All India quota:
(i) 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
(ii) 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
(iii) 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates. Candidates from creamy layer and do not come under Central List are advised to mention their category as General.
(iv) 3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for PH candidates. The reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website-www.mohfw.nic.in.

The Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be obtained against cash payment

By Sending a M.I.C.R. Bank Draft of Rs. 850/- by General /OBC Candidate and Rs. 500/- by SC/ST Candidate drawn in favour of The Secretary, CBSE, Delhi payable at Delhi by post latest by 24th December, 2010 along with a self-addressed envelope of 12″ × 10″ size. The Bulletin will be sent in the self-addressed envelope by registered/speed post to the applicant.

Submission of Application with late fee:
In case, the date of sale of bulletin is over and candidates wish to fill the application form for AIPMT 2011 Examination, such candidates can submit the application form only on-line from 10.01.2011 to 17.01.2011 with late fee of Rs. 500 only. Therefore, the fee for General/OBC candidates would be Rs. 1200 (Rs 700 + Rs. 500) and for SC/ST candidates the fee would be Rs. 850 (Rs. 350 + Rs. 500). However, Computer Generated Confirmation Page in all respect as applicable for on-line submission must reach to the CBSE on or before 24.01.2011. The rest of the procedure for submitting and sending the application form would be similar to the on-line submission of application form.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING AND SENDING THE APPLICATION FORM
A candidate can apply for the All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Entrance Examination in the following two ways:
Offline (On prescribed Application Form)
Offline submission of Application may be made on the prescribed Application Form. Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be obtained in the manner as specified in Clause-9.
Online
Online submission of Application may be made by accessing the Board’s website. The candidates submitting the application on-line would be given a rebate of Rs.100/- in the fee. The candidate should supply all details while filling up the Online Form. Candidates are required to take a print of the Online.
After successful submission of data in application. The print out of the computer generated Application Form, complete in all respects as applicable for Offline submission should be sent through Speed Post / Regd. Post in such a way that it should reach to the Board on or before the last date. Candidate should pay the application fee (Rs. 700 for General /OBC Category and Rs. 350 for SC/ST Category). The fee shall be remitted in the following ways:
- By credit card, or
- Through Demand Draft
Which should be in favour of the Secretary, C.B.S.E., Delhi drawn on any Nationalised bank payable at Delhi. Write your name, address, and contact no. and application number on the back of the Demand Draft.
More information and instructions for filling-in the Online Application Form will be available on the Board’s website from 15.11.2010 (10.00 a.m.) to 31.12.2010 (5.00 p.m.)
Even after the successful submission of online Application Form within due date, if the Computer Generated Application Form is not received by the Board on or before the last date or received without the requisite fee, the Application Form of the candidate will be treated as cancelled.

By Registered Post/Speed Post only so as to reach positively by 07.01.2011. The Application Form will not be received personally from candidates in any case. All other correspondence pertaining to conduct of examination shall also be made on this address.
Last date of Receipt of Application Form
The last date of receipt of Application Form for both offline and online (confirmation page) is 07.01.2011. In case the application is submitted online, printout of the computer generated form complete in all respects as applicable for offline submission must reach on or before the last date. 15 days’ grace time will be allowed from the last date of submission of the application to the candidates belonging to remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Admit Card: The Admit Card will be sent to the candidates by post. In case the Admit card for Preliminary Examination is not received by 20th March 2011, candidate should contact the Board between 21-03-2011 to 29-03-2011 only. However, admit card would also be made available on website.
Candidates qualified for the Final Examination- a separate admit card indicating the new roll number and other details will be issued. If the Admit Card is not received by 3rd May 2011, the candidate should contact to the Board between 04-05-2011 to 10-05-2011 only.
In no case, the duplicate Admit Card for both Preliminary & Final Examinations would be issued at the Examination Centres.
DECLARATION OF RESULT
The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the AIPMT Preliminary and Final Examination, evaluate the Answer Sheets and declare the result as per following details:
(i) The result of Preliminary Examination will be declared by the third week of April, 2011 and the same will be hosted on Board’s website. Candidates qualified for the Final Examination would be issued a separate admit card indicating new roll number and other relevant details.
(ii) The result of Final Examination will be declared by 1st week of June, 2011 and the same will be hosted on Board’s website. Board will prepare the merit list/ wait list as per the directives of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, DGHS and MCI.
