Admissions to first year degree courses in arts, science and commerce streams in city colleges will begin only after June 6 as original mark lists of the higher secondary certificate (HSC, std XII) exams will be distributed by the respective junior colleges on June 6. A number of city colleges have already made forms available online in order to save time and make the admission process faster.
On the other hand, admissions to professional courses will begin only after the results of the entrance examinations, namely MHT-CET and AIEEE, are announced.
For engineering and medical admissions, the results of the all-India engineering entrance exam (AIEEE) and the Maharashtra State combined common entrance test (MH-CET) for selection to all degree courses in health science, engineering and pharmacy courses are awaited. The exam was held on May 12 across the state. The state directorate of medical education and research (DMER) has yet not declared the dates for MH-CET.
According to the central board for secondary education that conducts AIEEE, the results will be announced before May 31.
The Fergusson College has already put up forms online on their website www.fergusson.edu from Saturday. Students can download and fill in the forms while they will be accepted by the college from June 7
Sir Parshurambhau College will distribute the forms physically on the same day the mark sheets are distributed to students. Duly filled forms will be accepted from June 7, Preference will be given to existing students of the same college.
The Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Commerce has also will distribute admission forms on June 6, whereas filled forms will be accepted from June 7.
