GCET to begin from June 25 across state: GCET for MBA, MCA courses

GCET is a state level common entrance test for acquiring admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses offered in Gujarat. The state government has entrusted Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to conduct Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) for admission into MBA and MCA courses in the state for the academic year 2011-12.

Forms will be available online for submission from June 9 at the website www.gtu.ac.in.

Gujarat Technological University has finalized the exam schedule for Gujarat Common Entrance Test – GCET. The test will be conducted at 22 test centres across the state from June 25 to June 28 and from June 29 to July 2.

As usual, GCET will be computer based and students will have a choice of appearing twice in the test. The first phase of the exam will be conducted from June 25 to 28. The first three days of the same will be reserved for the exam while the last day will be for rectification of any error that happened during the first three days. The second phase will commence from June 29 to July 2.

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the highest score of any of the two phases.

There are some 12,000 MBA seats and 5,500 MCA seats available in Gujarat. GCET will be conducted online. GTU officials have also decided to declare the results of the test immediately after the online test.
