The recent times of entrance examinations to professional courses like engineering or medicine are conducted on multiple-choice questions where the students are graded fairly on their answers rather than the marks they obtain on writing lengthy answers in their Higher Secondary Examinations. In today’s times of tough competition every single mark right up to the decimal also makes a huge difference in a student’s career life. The All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and All State Level Common Medical Entrance Examination occur once in a year with lakhs of students applying for each. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the respective State Medical Counsel Board and the respective Universities for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in several medical colleges around the country take care of the common medical entrance exams at the state level. Students are tested in the subjects of physics, chemistry and Biology. About 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges are taken care by the Union of India, state governments, municipal, and other local authorities in India. These exams usually occur in the months of April and May. There are certain eligibility criteria for each of these examinations which can be referred online. Besides the web also provides sample questions which help students prepare even better for these examinations. Nevertheless, admissions across India are based on the ideology of reservation (seats for backward castes) which has always been problematic every year.
