A number of Competitive Examinations are held every year for recruitment of personnel in the Indian Defense Forces. Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA), is through National Defence Academy Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. NDA exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Unmarried candidates who have passed 12th class in any school education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University can apply. Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination. The course of training is for three years. Short listed candidates are thereafter trained to become fully capable of dedicating themselves to the honorable task of safeguarding the nation’s interest. Various competitive examinations that are held for recruiting personnel to the Indian Defense Forces and If a candidate opts for NDA as his first choice, candidate has to give his preferences for the three wings of the NDA example Army, Navy or Air force. NDA awards a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science or Computer Science on completion of the training. If the candidate joins the technical stream, he will be offered a Graduate and Post Graduate degree in Engineering from one of the finest institutes of technology in the country.
