3.02 lakh students appear for MHT-CET 2011

3.02 lakh students took the For the Maharashtra Health and Technology – Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET). MHT-CET 2011 is the combined entrance exam for admissions to first-year degree courses in health sciences, engineering and pharmacy. It was conducted simultaneously at 786 exam centres in the state. There were 33,000 registrations from Pune itself.

State director for medical education and research (DMER) said, in a announcement that in total 3,905 seats are available for the health science courses at 60 colleges while 1,14,268 seats are available for the engineering courses at 309 engineering colleges in Maharashtra and 9,170 seats are available for the pharmacy courses at 147 pharmacy colleges. The entrance exam for the Bachelor of Paramedical Technology (BPMT) will also be conducted through the MHT-CET 2011 exam. The results will be declared by June 14, 2011.
